Snr Research Officer
Alyse holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) from Deakin University and specialises in evidence reviews, review methodology and qualitative research (including citizen panels and stakeholder dialogues) with a focus on rapid evidence and practice reviews to inform policy in practice.
Alyse has over eight years' experience in health systems research, undertaking systematic reviews and qualitative research in the areas of traumatic injury and care of older people. She now conducts rapid reviews across a broad range of topic areas.
Recently, Alyse was involved in conducting rapid evidence and practice reviews as a key team member on the three-year, $1.4 million Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Research and Innovation Program, leading to the development and delivery of six behaviour change trials to improve patient safety.
Alyse has experience in teaching and delivering workshops in face-to-face and online delivery modes for a range of audiences in the higher education and government sectors. This involves strategies on how to use evidence to unpack a problem, encompassing asking appropriate questions, conducting rapid reviews and critical consumption of evidence.
Alyse currently teaches into the Masters Unit, 'Understanding human behaviour to influence change', recognised for excellence by Monash University. She also manages Social Systems Evidence, a freely-accessible repository of review-level evidence addressing the Sustainable Development Goals.
Alyse is a Mental Health First Aid Ambassador and is involved in mental health and wellbeing improvement activities across the Monash Sustainable Development Institute. In her spare time, Alyse is an avid reader and loves to bake. Post-COVID, you'll be sure to find her in the office kitchen enjoying any sweets on offer!
