When behaviour change really matters
Since the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) hit Australia in March 2020, behavioural science has been in the media spotlight. This is not surprising given that behaviour change is currently the only effective policy tool available to mitigate severe risk.
As Austalia’s largest, university-based behaviour change research unit, BehaviourWorks has been consulting with and providing advice to Victorian policy-makers and many of our senior researchers have been sought out by the media to provide expert opinion on various approaches and tactics.
To date, more than 30 stories have been published in mainstream media outlets, as well as policy journals. Our Director and Research Fellows have also penned important articles for The Conversation and The Guardian.
Many of these stories relate to data collected by our team as part of the international Survey of COVID-19 Responses to Understand Behaviour (SCRUB) project, which we lead in Australia. A detailed explanation of this project and our involvement in it can be found in this story published by Monash Lens.
We have also captured all recent media articles – as well as our contribution to various COVID-19 projects on this page, which is being dynamically updated.
